Practice Hospitality

3 John 8 (NIV):"We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth."

John made a passionate plea to believers to practice hospitality through friendships and addressing physical needs. Meaningful relationships empower the working and spreading of the Gospel. In today's world this can be a real challenge, especially when we isolate ourselves behind our electronic devices. Even family members living together show little interest in each another because they are so caught up in their virtual worlds.Technology has taken the place of people. How are we able to see the brokenness around us to minister God's love and peace, when we can't go through a meal with someone without being interrupted or distracted by an electronic device? The decision to look up, focus on, and reach out to others lies with you. There is a world full of real, meaningful relationships waiting for you to pursue and enjoy. You'll find them far more enriching and rewarding than any virtual friend, or anything social media can offer! It's time to find a healthy balance - practice hospitality and enjoy working together for the truth.
