Hebrews 6:12 (TPT): "So don't allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm, but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith and patient endurance."
If faith is "believing what we can't yet see in the natural", then patience is what under-girds that faith - keeping us believing that God's Word is true. The Bible tells us that faith and patience is what causes us to inherit the promises of God's Word. No matter how opposite your circumstances seem to be from what God has promised, if you refuse to step back and let go of your faith, you will see them change. Just like a tiny rudder turns the direction of a large ship, the process may take time; but the moment the direction is set, that rudder causes that ship to do exactly what it dictates. Your faith and patience works the same way. The moment you believe and speak what the Word says is yours, the direction is set. Patience is what reminds you that even though you don't see the change quite yet, it's set into motion and in due time you'll be going in a completely different direction than you were going in before. So hold onto the promises of God; and no matter how long it takes, never quit believing they are yours to enjoy. Let faith and patience go to work as you see God's Word fulfilled.
