Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV): “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;”
Many choose to believe in coincidence rather than Divine intervention. The Word of God teaches us that life is a result of a deliberate decision. It also tells us that in spite of all His intentions and what He has done to make abundant, victorious life available to us, God calls all of heaven and earth to pay careful attention to see whether we choose blessing and life, or cursing and death. The reality is simple: things don’t just happen. Our knowledge of, and response to God’s perfect will found in His Word, determines whether or not we live out His plan for our lives. A daily decision to commit ourselves to God, keep His Word in our hearts, and obediently follow the Holy Spirit is what causes us to enjoy His blessing and life. There’s no coincidence here - only a deliberate choice moment by moment, day by day. Be sure to choose life - it’s the only way you’ll get to have it.
