God is Not Silent

Sunday, 05 May 2019 | Reading taken from 2 Timothy 3:16 (AMPC)

2 Timothy 3:16 (AMPC): “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction...”

Have you ever felt your earnest, heartfelt prayers are just not reaching God? You’re longing for intimacy with Him but it feels like you’re walking all alone. The question to ask yourself is, how much quality time have you been spending in the Word lately? The Bible is God’s voice to us. When we approach it with an attitude that is eager and excited to hear what it has to personally say to us, its wisdom comes alive in us. In fact, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says scripture is used to teach us in all truth, it highlights any wrongs in our lives, and shows us what is right. And if we embrace it, as if God Himself was lovingly showing us His ways, then His Holy Spirit will enable us to grasp the truth we read - and empower us to do what it says. God uses His Word to comfort and encourage us, and prepare and equip us for every good work. It even teaches us how to pray. Spending time in God’s Word is spending time with Him. He wants you to take it personally, and will reveal the secrets of His heart to you each time you do. So spend time in His Word; open your heart to it and experience how it will shift your prayer time from being a monologue to a very fulfilling dialogue.

The Lord Delights in You

2 Samuel 22:20 (NKJV): “He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.”

Have you ever considered just how much God loves His church? We are His workmanship, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His Own chosen people, called out of darkness into His marvellous light. The Bible says He rejoices over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). Undoubtably, the greatest demonstration of God’s love for us was when He freely gave up His only Son, not only for our redemption, but that we could live a life of abundance in Him.  Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?”  Ephesians 1:22 says that after Jesus rose again from the dead - triumphant over it, God placed all things under His feet and gave Him to be the head over all things TO the church! Then He said that we, the church are His body, the fullness of Him! Hallelujah! God loves us so much that He not only sent His Son to die in our place, He made us alive in Him too, gave us His Name and authority and victory, and filled us with the fullness of Himself through His Holy Spirit indwelling us! This demonstration of His love and goodness and kindness towards us is incomparable to any other!  God chose to pour Himself into us, to empower us to live a full and victorious life - demonstrating His goodness wherever we go.  There can be no doubt in your heart of how much He delights in you!
