1 Samuel 2:8 (NLT): "He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honour."

Although our surroundings may have a tremendous influence on our lives, we don't have to let them define who we are. God is able to elevate anyone from a place of poverty, in any area of their lives, to prosperity - from the garbage dump of misery and defeat into victory and honour. Once we understand who we are in God's eyes, we understand our true worth. We have been bought by the priceless blood of Jesus Christ, we are His. Our true identity comes from Him. As we learn to live, and move, and have our being in Him, He lifts us up. Promotion that comes by human endeavours is not secure - you can lose it tomorrow. But when God promotes you as you are hidden in Him, nothing and no one can ever take that away. Whatever you may be experiencing right now, remain anchored in Christ Jesus, have faith in His Word, and He will lift you up, and put you in a place of honour in Him.
