1 Corinthians 6:20 (AMPC): "You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honour God and bring glory to Him in your body."

The moment you got saved, the ultimate miracle was performed inside you. The Holy Spirit took your spirit, which had been dead in sin, and made it alive in Christ. His work inside you was so glorious that when it was all finished, He put His own seal of approval on you and declared you to be His own workmanship (Ephesians 2: 10). At that moment, your spirit became a temple of God! You were inwardly created to become His dwelling place. Now even though our bodies are made of flesh, they house the glorious, indwelling presence of God. The fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, and the grace of God are all working inside us, to influence and transform us from the inside out! Paul teaches us that first of all, we are not our own, we belong to the One Who saved and redeemed us. What's more, we're not only His, He actually moved right into our spirits and took up residency in us. That's why it's so important to live every day recognising and remembering to honour Him by the way we act and care for our bodies. We are the representatives of Christ here on earth - the way we present ourselves, the places we frequent, the things we do to our bodies - should all bring glory to the One we belong to. This way the world will know we are His.
