Do not Worry about Tomorrow

Matthew 6:34 (AMPC): "So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble."

Worrying about our future is a sure way to prevent us from enjoying and embracing the blessing and mercy we have today. The Word does teach us to plan ahead and live responsibly and wisely, because today's actions and choices will certainly pave what we walk in tomorrow. That's why living each day for the Lord, devoted to Him and doing our best to follow His ways, through the leading of the Holy Spirit is what we are responsible for. Worrying about the future and stressing over things that are completely out of our control is not. Jesus made it clear that while we live in a fallen world, every day will present its own problems and challenges. The truth is, when we choose to abide in Him - each day will also present new mercies and wonderful blessings. The choice of which we will embrace is entirely up to us. What's more, deciding to not worry or be anxious is not a suggestion, it's a command. God doesn't want us to worry because worry stops faith. Now, if worry has already been at work in you, preventing you from seeing hope for the future, it's not too late. Let your first step be to lay your burden down before the Lord, then put your faith securely in Him and His faithfulness towards you. As His peace and love wash over your soul and flood your mind - hold onto that with all your being and you will begin to feel the worry lift and be replaced by hope and faith from His Word. As you refuse to worry about the future, let your trust in Him be what causes you to embrace the joy and blessing of today, remembering He already knows what you need tomorrow.
