Know God and Be Strong

Daniel 11:32 (NKJV): "Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits."

Gloria Copeland once said the definition of hopelessness is no not the effects of war, or calamity caused by natural disasters; nor a failing economy. Rather, hopelessness is not knowing God in this world and being a stranger to His Covenant promises. The phrase to know God means to have firsthand knowledge of Him. It carries the idea of having a personal perception, understanding, or comprehension of Him through experience. When we choose to truly know God this way, where His own Spirit brings us to a place where we see, understand and grasp Who He is, we are supernaturally strengthened to carry out great exploits for Him. Regardless of any opposition, our knowing God is what empowers us to do what He has called us to do for His kingdom. The confidence we receive from truly knowing Him is what prevents our faith from wavering, and positions us in the centre of His perfect will. The next time you approach God's Word, regard it as an integral way to know Him more. Ask the Holy Spirit to make it alive to you, so that you can truly experience Who He is, beyond just a mental understanding. He will not only manifest Himself to you, but will transmit to you what is His, so you can excel in Him in this life.
