1 Corinthians 16:13, "Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith. Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength!"

If we are going to courageously overcome in this life - we need to make sure we are standing firm in faith. How do we do this? Well, faith comes by our consistently hearing the Word of God. There is nothing more powerful than a believer who is saturated in the truth of God's Word. That's because the moment we receive it into our hearts it has the power to transform us from being victims to victors! You see, God's Word is alive and powerful, and since the Holy Spirit inspired it, we cannot help but encounter God Himself in His Word! It sets us free from any incorrect mindsets. So when the enemy launches an attack against our minds with worrisome thoughts that bring confusion, doubt, or fear - the Word of God will always rise up and counter attack those negative thoughts. It guards our minds with peace and gives us the authority to cast down every thought that contradicts or opposes what God's Word says about us! Any believer who does exploits for the kingdom of God and stands tall and undefeated under pressure is someone who refuses to have a casual attitude about God's Word! He ensures it becomes the final authority of his life as he meditates on its truth day and night. It dominates his thoughts and influences all his conversations. Because the Word builds and perfects character, you can easily tell if someone is spending quality time in the Word by the way they act. They are always joyful and grateful, and walk with a dance in their step - because they know who they are in Christ and love to do what is right! They walk in love and kindness, and peace hangs on them like a cloak and wisdom overshadows all they say and do. Goodness and mercy follow after them every day of their lives! Choose to give yourself to God's Word today, and become the person of faith He made you to be!
