Which Voice Are You Following?

Wednesday, 12 December 2018 | Reading taken from John 10:4 (NLT)

In a world where there are so many voices of advice and opinions about life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and confused to know which one to follow. In the book of 2 Timothy 3, it describes the type of people we can expect to hear about and even encounter in these last days. Paul says they are those who deceive the body and are themselves deceived. In fact in Mark 13:22, we read of how even the elect, if possible, will be led astray and deceived. Oh I do hope you noticed those two redeeming words in that verse! "...If possible..." That means, in spite of all the deception and many voices and opinions that can be extremely effective in pulling you this way and that, every born again child of God can avoid being deceived! That's because we have the written word of God and the Holy Spirit living inside us. Jesus introduces Himself in John 10:4 as the Good Shepherd. He can be trusted to lead us into victory and safety every time. If you are needing clarity and direction from Him today, take time to push all those distracting voices aside, go before Him and ask Him to lead you clearly. Listen to the wisdom of His Word and the voice of His Spirit inside you that you will recognise because of the peace and joy it brings. Then do whatever He says and you will recognise what is the good and perfect way to walk in.
