Let Light Pave Your Way

This beautiful promise is a powerful demonstration of cause and effect. If we choose to not compromise and remain fixed in our decision to follow after the Lord, keeping Him and His Word in the centre of all we think, say and do, the blessing that results from that choice is overwhelmingly good! A Hebrew commentary on this verse sates that this kind of attitude in life causes light or illumination to be sown along our path. Let's think about this for a moment. Every seed that is sown produces or yields a crop after its own kind. So if we choose to keep God's Word as the centre of all we are and do, it will constantly produce a harvest of His illuminating truth, revealing His perfect will for us to walk in. When we walk in that light, an irrepressible joy rises up inside us, infusing us with inner strength no matter what circumstances surround us. That joy is from a deep seated confidence that we are surrounded by and have a hold within His favour and protection. A cross reference to this particular promise is Galatians 6:8 which says, "For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Supernatural wisdom, protection and favour are a result from having our hearts firmly rooted and grounded in the truth of God's Word. Choosing to yield to His Holy Spirit in all things brings an unquenchable fountain of joyful life that flows in and through us, dominating everything around us. Because of that flow, we can confidently say we are no longer victims of our circumstances. That life and light coming from knowing God and living out His Word, paves a way of hope, blessing and promise wherever we go. Don't surrender to chance; let God's Word pave your way.
