What Vessel are You?

Did you know God's intension is for every believer to be significantly useful in His kingdom? He designed us to be vessels of honour for Him. The Word declares that we are God's own handiwork, recreated in Christ to do the good works He predestined for us to do. With His Word alive in our hearts, and our wills yielded to His Holy Spirit, we are destined to great things in Him. However, this verse clearly tells us there are those who choose to not step into their purpose, and are content to have no honourable or meaningful use in the kingdom. It also says the choice is completely ours to make. We are the ones who determine which kind of vessels we will be. You see, the very next verse in 2 Timothy 2:21 says, "So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honourable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.". God's will for us is abundantly clear, but the choice to be fully committed and dedicated to it, is up to us. If we are going to half-heartedly serve Him by not making a quality decision to separate ourselves from wrong influences, we are never going to see the Spirit of God move mightily in and through us. It's up to us to faithfully set time aside to diligently study His Word and keep our thoughts, our words, and our actions in line with His will. It's our responsibility to press into His presence and allow His Spirit to fill and control us. That's what makes us exceptionally, effective vessels of honour for God's kingdom. We must be completely dedicated, reliant and obedient to His Spirit within us. It's time to make the choice, what kind of vessel do you choose to be in His kingdom?
