Watch Your Mouth!

In today's world, people feel they have been given license to speak out whatever they feel about others, without any filters on their expressions. This isn't just happening in the world, you'll find it in the church too. Believers are being critical of one another, breaking down the body of Christ. All this does is weaken the church from the inside out. The truth is, by acting this way we are far more useful to the kingdom of darkness than the kingdom of light. The other danger is, the more we get caught up in being critical of each other, the more callous our hearts become. We actually desensitise ourselves when it comes to hearing the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 4:23 is a familiar scripture to us, it's says, "Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life." The very next verse tells us how we guard our hearts, it says, "Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and wilful and contrary talk put far from you." Our own mouths have the power to quench the flow of the anointing in our lives, by stopping our hearts from being tender and sensitive to the Holy Spirit towards others. Have we forgotten that the power and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit that influences and flows out of a heart that is sensitive to God and seeking His will, is far more powerful and effective at destroying the work of the enemy than one that is critical and callous? When it comes to fellow believer's, we must speak the truth in love to each other, being careful to be led by the unction of the Holy Ghost; instead of being openly critical, out of our frustration and annoyance. A renewed devotion to the Word and fellowship with Holy Spirit will keep us sensitive to keep our words in line with His heart. This way we can be sure we are working against the enemy and not siding with him.
