The word Judah means praise, and it will go to war for you! Genuine praise will take back what God says belongs to you! I'm talking about battle-cry praise that wages war. Not wimpy praise, where you're thinking of all the other things you could be doing. Focused, intense, passionate praise is one of the most powerful forces in the universe! In Genesis 49:8, it says that Judah will have his hand on the neck of his enemies. When you choose to praise God with all that is in you, your enemy the devil, is immediately placed at a disadvantage, in fact, he becomes completely immobilised concerning you. In 2 Chronicles 20, we learn how God's people had a mighty victory over their enemies when they obeyed God's instruction to praise! 2 Chronicles 20:22 says, "And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the enemies ... and they were [self-] slaughtered;...". You see, the Bible says God inhabits the praises of His people, when we praise Him with all our might, we unleash His power filled presence right on the scene! In the Old Testament, time and again we read how victory over their enemies was a direct result of God's people praising Him. Isaiah 42:12-13 says how the Lord goes forth like a mighty warrior against His enemies when God's people praise. In Psalm 9:2-3, David said that he praised the Lord and his enemies turned back and stumbled. Confusion reigns in the enemy's camp when we begin to praise! In the New Testament, we are instructed to praise the Lord at all times and constantly give Him thanks. Ephesians 5:20, Hebrews 13;15 and Philippians 4:4, are some of the many scriptures that confirm this. Remember, Jesus has already conquered the enemy for us, He has overcome so that we can overcome. Our praise declares to the enemy that he is a defeated foe and that we refuse to have him mess with what is rightfully ours - victory in this life! So get your praise on and enforce your enemy's defeat!
