The power of the Blood

Communion is not something to only partake of once a year at Easter time. It is a powerful reminder of what Jesus Christ has done for us to live in His full, abundant life. That's why we should regularly partake of it, to remind us of the empowerment we have received to live as Christ, and do the works of God here on earth. Leviticus 17:11 says, "For the life is in the blood, and I have given it for you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement, by reason of the life [which it represents]." The blood of Jesus was shed to purify us of all sin and it's effect on and in our lives. The devil who is the accuser of the brethren, has no legal grounds to hold us ransom or in condemnation, since the blood of Jesus has destroyed the law of sin and death concerning us. The moment we received Christ as our Saviour, we not only received forgiveness of our sins, the blood of Jesus made sure that sin would no longer have power over us. Now we are able to live according to the law of the Spirit, which is life in Christ Jesus. He has given us His nature so that we no longer follow after the demands of the flesh! Instead, we live led and controlled by God's Holy Spirit. Someone once wrote, that there is more power in one drop of Jesus' shed blood, to cleanse men's hearts from the stain of sin, than there is in the accumulated filth of men's sin since Adam and Eve. Since God said life is in the blood, by faith, we can believe for His blood to affect every part of our bodies too. It's power will remove and flush out all toxic and harmful impurities from our bodies with its life-giving, cleansing power. As you partake of communion, be sure to do it by faith and with great joy, receive a fresh impartation of the power the blood of Jesus has made possible for you.
