Lift Your Expectation

The beggar, sitting at the temple gate, thought money would be the answer to his problems. The Bible says he expected Peter and John to give him alms; he hadn't even considered the possibility of being healed. Isn't it amazing how our expectations can so easily fall short of what God's plans are concerning us. Isaiah 55:9 says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." It's time to lift our level of expectation to coincide with God's. How do we know what His expectations are for us? Well, His Word is full of them. As you begin to spend time in the Bible, you'll soon get a good idea of what He has in store for your life. Believe me, it's nothing less than glorious! Before the foundation of the world, God intended for you and I to have a life in Him. In verse 15 of Acts 3, Peter says that Jesus is the source and author of all life. To grow and match our expectation for a full, satisfied life that is truly available for us, we will need to spend time growing in our knowledge of and relationship with Him. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, "For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]..." So many people run after the promises of God, without realising they are all automatically ours when we are living in Christ Jesus. Today, decide to pursue knowing the Person of Jesus more, let your expectation be in Him and you will receive far more than you ever expected possible!
