Empowered to do God's Will

While Jesus walked on this earth, He fulfilled the words spoken by the prophet Isaiah. He demonstrated a life that was devoted and obedient to the will of His Heavenly Father, as He operated in the power of the Holy Spirit. God's will is the same today as it was then. He desires to see all people free from the oppression of the devil, and healed from every disease. Some people believe that deliverance and healing were only for Bible times, and that since Jesus and His disciples left the earth, the power of God no longer operates through people this way. The Bible teaches the contrary. Because of the finished work of the cross, Jesus made it possible for all who believe and receive Him, to have the Holy Spirit live inside them. The Amplified Classic version of Ephesians 1:23 says we have the full measure of the life and power of the resurrected and victorious Jesus living in us. That's why Jesus said in John 14:12, "I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father." The Holy Spirit could only be released to dwell in and empower believers when Jesus left the earth to be with His Father. Now with His Spirit living in us, by faith, every believer can do the will of God, while being led by the Holy Spirit. In Mark 16:18, Jesus said we will, "...lay hands on the sick, and they will get well." The Apostle Paul declared that we are all ambassadors of Jesus Christ, His representatives here on earth, to imitate Him. We are to be willing vessels, living full of His power and always ready to carry out His will. As Jesus did, we go empowered to deliver those oppressed by the devil and heal every disease. As He was here on earth, so are we.
