The Powerful Force of Faith

When the Bible declares that faith works by love, it by no means insinuates that faith is gentle and unaggressive. The truth is, faith is a very powerful, violent force to be reckoned with when it comes against anything that is hindering the Word of God being manifest in our lives. The Bible uses strong, military language when it comes to our faith. In 1 Timothy 6:12, Paul writes to Timothy, urging him to continue to "fight the good fight of faith." In the Greek, the word "fight" refers to fierce combat with an adversary. Faith pushes through all resistance, it advances in full force and then stands firm, holding its ground against the enemy and his works. When your body is attacked with sickness or your mind is bombarded with an assault of fearful thoughts, you want a powerful, 'take no prisoners' kind of faith working on your behalf! When you are fighting for your marriage or the life of your children, you need a 'no nonsense' approach that will resist the enemy and stand your ground against his tactics. James 4:7 teaches us to resist the devil so that he will flee from us. We don't act kindly towards him or consider his feelings when we are at war over keeping what is rightfully ours through Christ Jesus. We want to see the devil run away in terror. Whatever you are facing today, take up the sword of the Spirit, being the Word of God, and your shield of faith that will block and quench every fiery dart from the enemy. As you advance in faith and stand firm on what God has promised you, you will overcome and be victorious over every onslaught. Don't be moved by what you hear or see, the powerful force of faith will violently do damage to the enemy and keep you established and settled in the reality of God's promises.
