Love is not Boastful

This scripture tests the very foundation of our personal faith and love relationship with Christ. If we truly know God's love for us, and how much He is willing to take care of us, fulfil our every need, deliver us from all trouble and honour us; we will not feel the need to elevate ourselves. Jesus is our good shepherd, He will always lead us to safety and satisfy us with a good, full life when we see ourselves in Him. Not independent, and self sufficient in our own strengths and abilities. When we have the need to rely on ourselves, just in case His Word doesn't work and He doesn't really care about us, it means we aren't truly convinced of His love for us. To really know God, is to constantly grow in the security of His unfailing, never ending love for us. That love makes us secure and content to always give Him glory. Like Paul, our desire is that people would not see us, but rather the nature and image of Jesus, shining through us. Spend time renewing your mind to God's love for you today, you will no longer have the need to elevate yourself, because His nature exhibited through you, will become your chief desire.
