Jesus said He is the vine that we are to be vitally connected to, and His desire is to see us bearing fruit. Why? Because fruit is evidence that God is alive in us and working through us! It's proof that we belong to Him and He belongs to us. When we are vitally connected to Him, His presence, through His Word being alive in our hearts, causes us to prosper in every area of our lives. But this living connection doesn't just benefit us, it flows through us to others. We begin to see and treat people with His kindness and love. We touch their lives with His mercy and healing power. But if we cut ourselves off from that vital connection, we stop the flow of supernatural power; and find that without Him, we can do nothing.
