John 11:17 (NKJV): "So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days."

In John 11, Jesus was late. At least it seemed that way in the natural; and the repercussions were great shock and grave disappointment from Martha's perspective. Jesus, however, never did anything unintentionally. Usually what we consider to be "let downs" are actually divine set ups for God to display His glory in our lives. Martha genuinely thought Jesus didn't care when He failed to show up on time to heal her brother. She was sorely offended that after all they had meant to each other, and done for Him and His ministry, He would make coming to their rescue a priority. It just didn't occur to her that His being late would reveal something about His character they wouldn't have seen if He showed up when they wanted Him to. He arrived at the tomb in perfect time for them to learn something new about Him. God is never late, and He most certainly isn't negligent when it comes to His children. If we could just learn to trust Him regardless, we would never lose our hope or expectation to see His faithfulness concerning us. Make up your mind that God is exactly who His word says He is. He is faithful. He will use any opportunity to show His glory and kindness in a way you've never seen it before, or demonstrate His power in a new way for you to experience. Allow your faithful God to exceed your expectations.
