1 Peter 4:12 (NLT):"Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you."

The Lord never said that by following Him we are exempt from challenges and trials. On the contrary, Jesus said, "...in this world, you will have trouble" then in the same breath said, "...be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world". You cannot be an overcomer if there's nothing to overcome. You cannot have victory unless you've engaged in battle. Jesus not only showed us the way; He declared that He is The Way! Our victory in this life is in Him, from Him and through Him. This, however, is only true of those who remain steadfast and choose to daily live, move and have their being in Him. Although it's generally believed that peace means the absence of a problem - true peace is found in the presence of Jesus. Whatever the world throws your way, take comfort in knowing God is with you and that He will never leave you - nor forsake you! He is for you - and no man can stand against you. As long as we remain firmly rooted in Him, we will continue to walk in victory and enjoy His perfect peace and love that drives away all fear.
