Psalm 127:1-2 (ESV): "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain... It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for He gives to His beloved sleep."
When God is the main focus and at the centre of our efforts, we can expect them to succeed. You and I were created for purpose - which requires diligence and work on our part. However, the minute we sacrifice or choose to go ahead without His guidance and peace, we move from a place of working in purpose - to a place of work done in vanity... Which is clearly not His will for us. To work hard is biblical - putting the abilities we've been given to effective use, for His glory. But only the work done in Him, while we are yielded to Him, is blessed by Him. Today, make a deliberate choice to move in sync with the Master. Choose to do nothing without Him and your work will not be in vain. Instead, you will experience the true rest of God in the midst of a job well done!
