Examine Your Own Work

Galatians 6:4 (NKJV): "...let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."

The Apostle Paul cautions us against the habit of comparing ourselves to others so we can feel better about our efforts and accomplishments. We are to take responsibility for our own work and give account for our own service to the Lord. We can't avoid our responsibility to increase our personal faith, or grow our passion for the Lord. That's why we must be diligent to spend time in prayer and study His Word. This way we learn how to give His Holy Spirit full control to do His transforming work in and through our lives. It's where He energises, enables, and equips us for His service and accomplishes His perfect will in our lives - making us strong, courageous, and victorious - fit to fight the good fight of faith. Remember, you are called by God and accountable to Him. So surrender to Him daily, follow His lead and you won't feel the need to compare yourself with others anymore.
