Be Kind

1 Peter 4:9 (CSB): "Be hospitable to one another without complaining."

Part of the ‘code of conduct’ we’re called to live by, especially when daily choosing to follow Christ, is to be sober-minded, prayerful, walking in love, and being hospitable without complaining.  There is absolutely no way of fulfilling any of these instructions apart from the empowerment of the Spirit of God. Only His love at work within us enables us to do all of this without complaining.  God’s grace is a supernatural empowerment that gives us both the desire and strength to carry out His will. Philippians 2:13 says, “[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energising and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” In the very next verse, it says we are to do all things, “…without grumbling and fault-finding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves].” Today, choose to yield to God’s love inside you, and be hospitable to others. This is possibly one of the most powerful ways to displays His genuine love for them.  Understand, your kindness will not go unnoticed by God as you represent Him well and mark others’ lives with His love.
