The Mark of True Joy!

Psalm 119:2 - 3 (NLT): "Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths."

We are not called to a life of compromise, but total surrender to the will of God! But this is only possible when we are completely convinced that following after His ways - ALWAYS results in our good! In fact, it will lead to a life that is far better than we could ever dream or imagine. When our hearts are fixed on pleasing the Lord out of our deep, sincere love for Him - we begin to experience what true joy is! Jesus demonstrated a life of complete obedience to His Father's will, and He was certainly the most joyful person who ever lived! Hebrews 1:9 speaks about Him when it says, "You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God, [even] Your God (Godhead), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions." The Word of God tells us we can't serve two masters. We will love one and despise the other, our commitment will be divided. Compromise forces us to lower our standards and accept an inferior life that lacks any real fulfillment. When we choose to devote our lives to a loving, trustworthy God - Who formed us, knows us, and loves us completely; our lives will be marked by the joy of knowing Him and loving His ways!
