John 17:14 (NLT): "I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world."

God has called us to live by His Word. It is no secret that we live in a world filled with sin, where the way of life, for the most part, is completely contrary to the nature and ways of God. Since believers carry the presence of God within us, we are called the salt and the light. The world will quickly recognise we are different by the way we live. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says we carry a fragrance of the knowledge of God. To some it brings great hope because they know we have the answer for abundant, eternal life. To others who hate righteousness, it's a smell of doom. Either way, we have the power to influence, impact, and change the world for Jesus - by His power and presence that's in us and with us. The truth of God's Word is what sets people free from the bondage of the world. The same truth that set you free, when you accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, is the truth that will set those around you free - revealing to them the wonderful, glorious Person of Jesus Christ. Never be ashamed of the Word Who saved you - live in a way others can be drawn to Him to be saved too.
