Thursday, 21 January 2021 | Reading taken from Matthew 8:10 (NKJV)
Matthew 8:10 (NKJV): "I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"
There were times Jesus rebuked people for their unbelief and times He marvelled at their "great faith". The Roman centurion is an example of the latter. Although Jesus agreed to tend to the man's sickly servant, the centurion decided it wouldn't be necessary, knowing that just on His word the miracle would happen. This kind of faith was almost unheard of - a gentile acting upon the full measure of faith in the Messiah! Great faith doesn't have to see before it believes. It believes first because it fully understands and trusts in the authority and character of the One who makes the promise. If you need to see a particular breakthrough in your life, take a look at what Jesus has already said to you in His Word! Then be like that centurion, since you have His word on it - just believe and your confidence in the authority and faithful character of Jesus will see that miracle become your reality!

Thursday, 21 January 2021 | Reading taken from Isaiah 37:6 (NKJV)
Isaiah 37:6 (NKJV): “… ‘Thus says the Lord: Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.’”
With so much access to so much information, it’s easy for the enemy to sneak in a crafty word into our minds, when we’re not paying attention. Those niggling thoughts sent to harass our minds and weaken our faith are seeds of doubt or fear. However, the moment we recognise where they come from - we won’t give them the time of day! Instead, we immediately root them out and replace them with the truth of God’s word! King Hezekiah had heard the horrifying threats of the Assyrian king, and they troubled him. Just the same, it’s easy for us to feel unnerved and anxious when we receive a bad report. Godly advice rings as true for us as it did for Hezekiah: “Do not be afraid of the words you have heard…”. Pay no mind to the enemy. Don’t be shaken, and don’t be afraid. Only concern yourself with remaining in God’s presence, and keeping your mind fixed on His Word! Draw nearer to the Lord and get busy doing His kingdom business! This way we confuse the enemy by refusing to pay attention to his threats and retreat. Instead, we build ourselves up in faith and advance victoriously in confident joy!
