Walk Worthy

Tuesday, 05 January 2021 | Reading taken from Ephesians 4:1 (AMPC)

Ephesians 4:1 (AMPC): "I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service."

This verse follows directly after, and completes Paul's statement saying: "Because God can do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power at work within us - which is the Holy Spirit, we MUST lead a life worthy of that which we were called to." It seems Paul is highlighting the truth that since we have the Holy Spirit living and continuously at work in us, empowering and transforming us to be more like Jesus - we really don't have an excuse for not living lives that resemble the character and nature of God. With Christ dwelling richly in our hearts, through His Word, there will always be victory over the temptation to sin. We will always have the power to choose God's way over our own. Don't get caught thinking you can give anything less than your best for God; or that you can just coast through life living as you please. You are called to live in and for Christ. You are called to dominate this earth with His love and power, loving others as Christ loves you. This is who you are. Walk in it today.
