2 Corinthians 7:1 (TPT): "Beloved ones, with promises like these, and because of our deepest respect and worship of God, we must remove everything from our lives that contaminates body and spirit and continue to complete the development of holiness within us."

While it sounds noble to profess we are sinners saved by grace, the Bible declares that to be only the beginning of our journey with Christ. As we live and grow in Him, His Spirit and Word go to work in our lives giving us a new identity - we are now called the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We were lost in sin, but now we are found by Christ. We are saved and made totally new in Him! Our old, sinful nature has been buried with Christ, and our new nature has been raised with and in Him! Now, as we continuously and intentionally put our flesh under subjection to the Holy Spirit Who lives in us, He progressively changes our human nature to become more like Jesus. Romans 8:19 in The Passion Translation says, "The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God's glorious sons and daughters". It's time to recognise yourself by what God's Word declares you to be - a child of God, led and controlled by His Spirit, continuously being transformed into His image one degree of glory at a time!
