Believe the Word

John 20:29 (AMPC): “Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust, have faith)? Blessed and happy and to be envied are those who have never seen Me and yet have believed and adhered to and trusted and relied on Me.”

According to the Word of God, faith is not seeing first and then believing. No! Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the title deed, or the evidence of what we are hoping for - even before our natural, physical senses detect it. We must remember that everything happens in the realm of the spirit before it is manifested in the natural. Mark 11:24 tells us the moment we pray and believe, is the moment we receive. Our faith reaches into the realm of the spirit and grabs a hold of what God has promised and makes it ours, even before itis manifested in the natural. As born again believers, filled with, and controlled by the Holy Spirit, our evidence to base our faith on is the written word of God; and we can be sure He is alert and watching over His Word to perform it. Hebrews 6:18 tells us that God’s Word is unchanging and irrefutable, meaning it is credible evidence and produces a sure hope - impossible to deny. The only evidence we need to base our faith on is God’s Word and, as His Spirit makes it alive to us, we can confidently believe it to be true - expecting it to produce everything it has promised in and for us.
