Don't be Impatient

Philippians 1:6 (AMPC): "And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you."

We live in a time where technology has enabled us to access almost anything at the touch of a button. In comparison, there may be times we think the Lord is slow in delivering on His promises. As a result, we try assisting Him in our impatience, by taking matters into our own hands, relying on our own wisdom to hurry the process along. Unfortunately, the results are hardly ever God's best for us and tend to incur much frustration and toil along the way. So what do we do when we feel God isn't moving fast enough? Firstly, we must take the matter to Him in faith, and expectantly wait on Him for His wisdom and guidance, which always comes with a strong sense of peace. Then, act only on what He leads us to do, with thanksgiving in our hearts. We continue to inquire of Him for every step after that - never moving forward without His Word and peace concerning it. We can confidently trust the Lord to bring every promise to pass in perfect time in our lives, as we remain in Him, resting our faith in His Word.
