Standing in the Gap

Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT):"I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn't have to destroy the land, but I found no one."

Did you know that as a born-again believer, you have the ability to stand in the gap for your nation, and rebuild the wall of righteousness by means of prayer? It can be tricky to balance standing for what is true, while walking in love and pursuing peace with people wherever possible. The Word instructs us to stand firm in faith, while showing grace to a world that doesn't know better. We are to hold our leaders accountable, while praying for their wisdom and well-being. That's why we must constantly remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but principalities and the world rulers of this present darkness. In Christ Jesus, we have been given authority over the enemy to pull down those strongholds. Our prayers can push back the tide of evil and release the love and light of God's kingdom over our nation. We can stand in the gap as we take all that concerns our nation before the throne of God. We can speak life and light into the land for our generation and the ones to come.
