Faith is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. It's nature is to create and cause significant increase. It causes the impossible to become possible because it has the purpose to bring God's supernatural life and power into our natural world. The very culture, energy and atmosphere of heaven is brought into our physical world through faith. That's exactly what happened when God's words of faith spoke creation into existence. It's what happened when the prophets of old spoke Jesus onto this earth, and it's the same force that gives our words substance when we declare God's truth over our lives. Faith is alive, active and always progressive. So when we choose to live by it, we will always be moving forward, ever increasing in the good and productive plan God has for our lives. The problem comes when our relationship with Jesus and our new life of faith in Him is taken for granted, and we don't understand that we have been saved for a purpose other than just going to heaven when we die. If we are not growing and increasing in faith, we aren't equipped to move forward and exercise our God given authority over the devil and circumstances in this life. Without remaining passionate and active in our relationship with the Lord and His Word, we cease to be empowered to live as overcoming, life giving ambassadors for His kingdom. Really, this is what we call being in a state of spiritual lukewarmness, which is despicable to God. To live outside of faith is to deny the power of the finished work of the cross, so we must keep the fire of faith burning inside us as we make living in God our priority. This is how we avoid being passive and fruitless in our spiritual lives and instead stay alive, passionate and productive for His kingdom.
