God's love is an enemy to selfishness. It always seeks the best for others, above itself. So many people over the years have the impression that God demands our devotion and obedience as some self-pleasing dictator, Who is hungry for selfish praise. That's exactly what the devil would have people believe about Him. However, the truth is, God is love, and there is no selfishness in Him. He exists to love us with a pure, uncontaminated love. He has never, nor will He ever seek or insist on His own rights above our own. If He did, He never would have given up His only beloved Son. Of all that God owned, He only had one Son, Whom He loved with all His heart. And He performed the most unselfish act the world had and ever will see. He sacrificed His only begotten Son, so that we could be saved. You would think that after giving His all, the world would willingly and gratefully surrender to His love. But instead, so many reject Him and abuse His Name everyday. Yet, He never stops loving us, without any reproach or fault finding. Even though we deserve it, He is never resentful towards us. What kind of God is this that loves us so freely and generously, and unconditionally? He is the God of love that we serve, and willingly and gratefully surrender our lives to. This is the kind of God I desire to follow and worship, all the days of my life. Spend time thinking about God's unconditional love that He extends to you everyday, regardless of who you are, or what you do. Experience His abundant grace and expect His goodness and mercy to follow you, all the days of your life.
