In this verse, the writer says that the Lord has taught him to know how to say just the right thing to a person in their time of need. He emphasises the fact that each morning, he rises, expecting the Lord to teach him. He describes how the Lord Himself causes the ears of his spirit to hear and know what he needs to know for that day. God knows every detail of each person's life. He understands our needs and earnest desires more than we know them ourselves. And He wants to bless us, encourage and strengthen us. He does this not only by speaking a promise into our hearts, for our own situations, He will give us a Word in season for others too. When we are full of the love of God, we are able to extend His love to others, by receiving and delivering an encouraging and comforting word from His heart to them. What a joy to be used of God in this way! Decide to wake up each morning, expecting the Lord to give you a Word in season for whoever He lays on your heart. Then be obedient, bless them by sharing it with them, and you will see how it truly is more blessed to give than to receive!
